Al Glasby

GLASBY, Alfred L. "Al"; born on April 29, 1961 in Pontiac; of Ortonville formerly of Clawson; passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on July 25, 2024 at the age of 63;

husband of Kim for 38 years; father of Chris (Jennifer) Glasby, Stephanie (Ryan) Elowsky and Gary Glasby; grandpa of Nathan, Liana, Reese and Max; son of Al (late Sandy) Glasby and the late Winnie Glasby; son in law of Kathy (late Gary) Lake; brother of Jan Recchia, David (Leah) Glasby and Russell (Heather) Glasby; brother in law of Tracy (Pat) Sloan; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Al owned and operated Popcorn Press with his family. Against all odds, he eagerly accepted the challenge of maintaining a successful business. He was a very talented musician/guitar player and attended Berklee College of Music in the mid 80's.  He enjoyed cooking/grilling, so much so that cooking was often referred to as his "love language". In his earlier years, he performed as a magician and enjoyed making people laugh. Al also enjoyed traveling. After discovering S.C.U.B.A. on a trip excursion, he became a certified Scuba diver.

A celebration gathering will be Friday, August 9th from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Stephanie and Ryan's home, 3200 Hummer Lake Road, Ortonville, MI 48462.

Cremation services entrusted to Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston.
