Alexander "Alex" Mack

Alexander Owen Mack "Alex" of Waterford, Michigan passed away peacefully at home on May 31, 2026, at the age of 42.

Alex graduated from Lake Orion High School and OSM-Tech (Oakland Science, Mathematics, Technology, and Education Center). After graduation, he attended Oakland Community College and earned a Digital Arts certificate from Specs Howard School of Media Arts. Alex worked in photography and video editing before transitioning to retail. Alex was always looking toward the future, eager to discover what came next. His curiosity and drive kept him searching for new opportunities, ideas, and experiences throughout his life.

Alex was a proud father to his son, Isaac Mack. They loved to play cards and board games together. Most years they travelled to Kelleys Island for a summer vacation to explore the island and swim in Lake Erie.

Alexander enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Whether preparing a favorite meal or experimenting with a new recipe, he loved bringing people together through food—even if it occasionally meant leaving a mess in the kitchen!  Alex will be remembered fondly for his warmth, humor, and willingness to help others. He was particularly compassionate and gentle when caring for his aging grandfather, and when helping elderly neighbors in his condo community.

Alex's memory will live on in the hearts of those who love him. He is survived by his son, Isaac Mack; his mother, Cindy Valuet-Mack; his sister, Shannon Mack Ecker (Chip Ecker); Isaac's mother, Robyn Jamieson; along with many extended family members and friends.  He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Todd Mack; his paternal grandparents, John and Nadine Mack; and his maternal grandparents, Richard and Ruth Valuet.

Memorial Service Friday, June 12th at Christ the Redeemer Church, Lake Orion. Friends and Family will gather at 10:30 am with a Funeral Mass at 11 am. Inurnment Lakeview Cemetery, Clarkston.
