Anthony "Tony" Neff

Anthony "Tony" Neff, age 82, of Clarkston passed away on January 16, 2026 at his home. He is survived by his son Steven (Susan) Neff of New York; and was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Neff, his mother, Rose Holcomb, and his father Robert "Wally" Neff.

Tony was born in Petoskey, Michigan and grew up in a house across the street from the Petoskey-Bay View Country Club where he got his first job as a caddie. His love for the game of golf was ever present throughout his life – he played in school, in the Army, and he played several times a week, in leagues with his friends, all throughout his career as a financial analyst at General Motors in Pontiac. After retirement he played as often as he could, mostly at his club, Paint Creek Country Club, close to his home in Clarkston. And for more than 25 years, in the winters, he and Betty enjoyed visiting the Gulf Coast of Texas and playing at the Rockport Country Club.

Tony loved to share a hearty laugh, a good meal, and a cold Budweiser! He was a gregarious and generous son, husband, father and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Per his wishes, cremation services and arrangements were entrusted to Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Golf Association of Michigan Foundation .
