Barbara Elizabeth Hein

HEIN, Barbara Elizabeth; of Ortonville; passed away on March 11, 2024 at the age of 97. Wife of the Late Robert Hein; mother of Linda (Tim) Blanchard, Nancy Sue (Mohamad) Hamo and Patricia (John) McGowan; grandmother of Beverly (Todd),  Jason (Ann) and the Late Debbi, great grandmother of Anthony, Grace and Elliot.

She was beautiful and kind, strong and tough as nails, an amazing pianist, dog trainer, horse person and she raised the 3 of us girls almost single handedly while working a demanding job as secretary to the sales manager of Pontiac motors until her retirement at age 65. She and her husband (the late Bob Hein) traveled the country competing with their beloved German Wire-haired Pointers and as they got a little older they traveled to escape the cold winters. After her husband passed, the 3 of us offered her a home with any of us and her reply was "I love you all but I don't want to live with any of you" so she stayed in her cottage where she read, had daily visitors, watched her lovely plants that provided her with flowers at the oddest times and watched her two shows (Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy) religiously, (we knew better than to ever call her until after 8:00 p.m). She never missed Saturday night live which she watched from the time it began in 1975. She remained independent until she left us to be reunited with her many loved ones that went ahead of her.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday the 18th at 12pm at the Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston. Friends may arrive any time after 10:30am.
