KNUFINKE, Beverly Anne (nee Kreger); of Clarkston formerly of Port Huron and Petoskey; passed away on August 2, 2025 at the age of 81. Born in Detroit on November 7, 1943 to Orrin and Dorothy Ball; she and her first husband James "Jim" Kreger raised their family in Port Huron; she later moved to Petoskey and married Manfred Knufinke.
Loving mother of Rebecca "Becky" (Andrew) Mattson and James "Jay" (Shannon) Kreger; Grandma of Andrew "AJ" (Hannah), Deborah (Christian), Elisabeth (Trent), Jacob; Taylor (Rachel), Laura and Thomas; Great grandma of Daniel, Miles, William and Wilder.
Preceded in death by her husband Manfred (2022); her first husband James Kreger (1985) and her brother Charles Ball (2017).
Bev took pride in being an amazing homemaker and hostess. She sewed many of her own and her children's fashionable clothes and crafted beautiful gifts and home decor items, as well as linens and robes for her church. She applied her organizational and entertaining skills to volunteer work in Port Huron at St Paul's Church, St Clair County Republican Party and many campaigns, March of Dimes, Port Huron Hospital Oktoberfest, and Silversticks tournament. In her midlife, she obtained her Associates Degree in Business and acquired her real estate license. When she moved to Petoskey, she kept books for a vacation home management company, and then became the operating manager for Victories Entertainment Center, owned with her husband Manfred. During retirement, she enjoyed winters in Acapulco and Arizona, summers on Crooked Lake, and spending time with her grandchildren. Always the hostess, she had enough new recipes for an army on every visit, as well as new fun toys such as water guns and sleds for the grandchildren. In Clarkston, she joined North Oaks Church and served on the Outreach Committee, being known as the "Card Lady". Still loving an excuse to bake, her sweet treats were enjoyed by many at potlucks and men's Bible study.
