Billy E. Simmons

SIMMONS, Billy E.; born February 3, 1950 in Pontiac, MI to Joel and Jewell Simmons; of Stockbridge, MI formerly of Waterford and Oscoda. He spent his childhood in Missouri. Billy passed away on July 20, 2024 at the age of 74;

father of Stacy Simmons, Amanda (Nicholas) Lovellette and the late baby Angel Simmons; grandpa of Lana Grant, Taylor Newville, Jayden Newville, Dylan Newville, Emma Lovellette and Ava Lovellette; preceded in death by his baby grandson Christopher; great grandpa of Skylar, Oakleigh, Asteria, Eden and one on the way;  brother of Kathy Gee, Jo King, Mike Simmons, Joanie Vawter and Carol Houston; preceded in death by his siblings: Charlotte, Nancy, Lahona and Dale; also survived by his friend/former spouse, Donna Grant of Clarkston.

Billy served in the U.S. Marines and was a proud Vietnam veteran.  He retired from General Motors. Billy had a great love for many cats and enjoyed "gardening", rolling his own cigarettes and baking homemade apple pies. He loved his caregivers and friends at Walnut Ridge Home, who became his second family.

Friends may visit Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston on Tuesday, July 23rd from 4:00pm-9:00pm.

Cemetery service with military honors Monday, July 29th at 1:00pm at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
