Blake Keith Mooney

In Loving Memory of Blake Keith Mooney March 1, 1986 – October 11, 2025. Blake Mooney, beloved son, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, at the age of 39. He lived a life marked by fierce loyalty, a generous heart, and an unmistakable sense of humor. Blake was a devoted big brother to Amanda (Andrew) Calcutt, Paige (Chad) Wengren, and Joseph Mooney, proudly signing off messages with "Your Big Brother." He was also a fun-loving uncle to Liam, Alayah, Kinsley, and Lily and deeply loved grandson to Leona Roberts. A lifelong hockey lover, Blake played with passion and dedication. He attended Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, where he joined the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. He also took great pride in his work at General Dynamics, speaking about it with admiration and purpose. Blake treasured family traditions, especially the annual guys' hunting weekend and gatherings filled with laughter, mischief, and love. After the devastating loss of both parents, Blake showed incredible resilience. But the weight of grief and depression became too heavy to bear. Despite his courageous fight, Blake's body gave in, and he passed on — now at peace and free from pain with a heart now full after void in his broken heart. He is preceded in death by his parents Keith Mooney and Lori Roberts, paternal grandparents Virgil and Louise Mooney, maternal grandfather Joe Roberts, and Cousin Ryan Roberts — with whom he is now joyfully reunited. Blake will be remembered for his protective spirit, deep love for his family, and enormous heart. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, loyalty, and unwavering love — forever missed by all who knew him. Private interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield. Memorials may be made to Intrepid Fallen Hero's Fund or American Foundation for Suicide Foundation . The family will be holding private services.
