Born in Detroit, Michigan, Carole grew up in Grosse Pointe and later attended Albion College, where she met her beloved husband, Ward Sussex. Together, they built a life filled with love and 66 years of shared experiences and wonderful memories.

Carole had a long and fulfilling career as an interior designer, working for a boutique design studio in Bloomfield Hills for approximately 30 years. Her keen eye for detail and passion for design left a lasting impression on her clients and colleagues alike.

An avid hobbyist throughout her life, Carole explored a variety of creative pursuits. In her early years, she enjoyed decoupage and needlepoint. She also shared a special bond with her son through their work on train models. In her later years, she turned her artistic talents to crafting intricately designed room boxes that reflected her remarkable creativity and skill.
