HAMACHER, Dennis H.; of Lake Orion; born August 20, 1948, in Pontiac to Clifford and Cecelia Hamacher; passed away March 21, 2026, at the age of 77.
Husband of Star (nee Lozano) for over 25 years.Father of Suzanne (Craig) Strange and Denise (Christopher) Moore.Stepfather of Charles "Chuck" Adair and Stephen "Steve" Adair. Loving papa of Craig Adair, Jack Fields, Jenna Fields, Kassidy Adair, Emmaline Strange, Merredith Adair, Madison Adair, Evan Adair, Ella Adair, Hanah Moore, and Myles Moore; great grandpa of Alora Fields and Carter Woods, and brother of Karen, Twila, and Janet.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Cecelia Hamacher and his siblings, Norma, Phyllis, Betty, Jack, Raymond, Barbara, and Carol.
Dennis was a proud U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. He retired from General Motors in 2000. He kept busy in retirement as a talented carpenter, creating quality wood furniture for his family and friends, along with his love of hunting, fishing, and being outside.
Friends may visit Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston on Tuesday, March 24th from 3:00pm – 7:00pm. Funeral Mass Wednesday, March 25th at 10:00am (in state 9:30am) at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, Waterford.
Interment with military honors Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly on Wednesday, March 25th at 2:30pm. Meet at cemetery staging area at 2:15pm.
Memorials may be made to directed to the Wounded Warrior Project, the American Cancer Society, or Seeds of Life.
