Doreen Michelle Matthews

MATTHEWS, Doreen Michelle; of Royal Oak; passed away on February 19, 2023 at the age of 74. Loving mother Jason Matthews and Andrew (Karin) Matthews; proud grandma of Grayson Matthews; dearest sister of Kathleen Snyder and Marilyn. Also survived by her cousin Rex (Jeanette) Maingot and niece Suzanne Heron.

Born in Mexico City, Doreen Matthews was a citizen of the world.  She visited many countries and had friends around the globe.  Her passion was film and television,  where she was employed for many years as a film editor and eventually took on screenwriting - working for many years on her screenplay - Windward.  She was a holistic pioneer believing in meditation and yoga as a practice.  Doreen also loved animals and she was a kind and loving person toward all living things.

In honor of Doreen's final wishes, simple cremation services will take place. Arrangements entrusted to the Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are encouraged to be made to : New York Women in Film & Television , PO Box 55, Kings Park, NY 11754.
