Douglas John Smith

SMITH, Douglas J.; of Metamora formerly of Pontiac; passed away unexpectedly March 25, 2021; age 75; husband of Betty for 56 ½ years; father of Paige (late Pat) Nicklow and Greg (Jennifer) Smith; grandpa of Madison Nicklow & Hadley Smith; preceded in death by his brother Michael Smith; also survived by many nieces, nephews and family members. Doug retired from General Motors. He loved spending time in Houghton Lake and with his little dog, Bella. He enjoyed to golfing, gardening, landscaping and was the family "fix-it" handyman. A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, April 14th at 11:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lake Orion. Arrangements entrusted to Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston.
