Edwin Lehman Adler

Edwin Lehman Adler, born November 11, 1937, in Pontiac to parents Edwin H. Adler and Margaret LaVelle Lehman, passed away on October 28th, 2025, at the age of 87.

Ed enrolled in Pontiac Schools until the 8th grade where he continued his education at Waterford Township High School. He then went on to attend Michigan State University where he earned his bachelor's degree. He was the owner of Food Town Super Market which his parents had started in 1944. Ed started ABC Harley Davidson in Waterford with his partner Dennis Atherton. He formed Washington Management with stepbrother Robert Roth and started Clarkston State Bank with Dave Harrison. He loved to travel throughout the U.S. and spend many vacations in Europe visiting friends, relatives, and touring. Ed loved antique wood boats and spent many hours on Lake Angelus, up and down the East Coast, the Hudson River, the Erie Canal and both sides of the Coast of Florida. In 1963, he married Gretchen Lange at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Dearborn. He was active in Boy Scouts and Pontiac Chamber of Commerce in his early years.  Later he was on the Board of Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital.  He was also Finance Chair and later Chairman of the Pontiac Stadium Authority. Ed is lovingly remembered by his wife Gretchen, his stepbrother Robert Roth and wife Peg and by many, many nieces and nephews as well as many friends and relatives in Kentucky and Michigan.

Memorial donations may be made to the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Friends may visit the Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston on Monday November 3rd from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.

Funeral Service will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church, Clarkston on Tuesday November 4th at 11:00am with visiting directly at the church beginning at 10:00am.
