Elizabeth "Betsy" Chewins

CHEWINS, Elizabeth J. "Betsy" age 88 died, surrounded by her family on January 11, 2026.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Karen (Bill) Turnbull, Christine (Kevin) Coventry, Kathryn Manneback (Peter Thiessen) and Paul (Stacey) Chewins; dearly loved grandma of Brett Turnbull (Danielle Keith), Eric (Deana) Turnbull, Kristen (Michael) Felder. Kelsey Chewins and Cole Chewins (Karolina Lutrzykowska); adored great grandma of Lucas and Dylan Turnbull, Savannah Felder, and Theodore Turnbull; and dear sister-in-law of Brenda Chewins. Betsy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elma Morrison, her husband, Carl, and her son in law, Dale Manneback.

Betsy and Carl owned and operated Carl's Tax Accounting for 36 years before retirement before passing the business to the next generation of their family. They were hard-working and dedicated professionals, and their clients not only became friends, but often an extension of their family. Betsy was a loving and devoted wife, mom, grandma, and great grandma who dearly loved her family, marrying her high school sweetheart, Carl and sharing 56 wonderful years together. In her free time, she enjoyed travel, crafts, and movies, but gathering with family and friends was her true passion.

Betsy's family will receive friends at the Wint Funeral Home-Clarkston on Monday, January 19, 2026, with visitation beginning at 11:30 am, followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:30 pm. Private interment at All Saints Cemetery, Waterford.
