Ethel "Mary" Hashoian

Hashoian, Ethel "Mary" (Snyder) of Traverse City, formerly of Waterford, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2024, at age 87. Beloved mother of Denise Cavanaugh and Glenn (Patricia) Moore; devoted grandma of Jeff, Brad, Adam, Cheri, Ariana, Sierra, Mariah, Glenn, and Vienna; and great-grandma of Aryia, Maverick, and Ella.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Martha Snyder; husband, Ralph; daughter, Cheryl; grandson, Craig; sisters, Martha and Alice; and brother, Al.

Ethel "Mary" was born in Royal Oak where she graduated from high school in 1954. Soon thereafter, she married Jim Moore and they raised their three children, Denise, Cheri, and Glenn in Waterford.  Mary retired from Oakland Schools after a fulfilling career as an administrative assistant there. She was a skilled seamstress and cake decorator when her kids were young. She later became a world traveler and enjoyed being active in sailing, cross-country skiing, and volunteering.  She had a flair for decorating, a refined taste in music, and appreciated all types of art. Above all, Ethel Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family.

Visitation for Mary will be Friday, November 1, 2024 beginning at 12:00 noon, with service to follow at 1:00pm at the Lewis E. Wint Funeral Home, Clarkston. Interment will follow at Ottawa Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
