RIVERS, Francis "Frank" D. Rivers

November 28, 1929- February 28, 2023

Rivers, Francis, age 93, of Lakeville MN, (formerly of Clarkston, Michigan) passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 28, 2023. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Barbara; son, Kirk; parents, Edward and Lillian, sisters Shirley and Martha, brother Wayne, brother-in-laws Al and Andy.  Survived by his daughter Dottie (Don) Knutson of Farmington; grandsons Matthew, Zachary, and Christopher Knutson; sister Joan Danes of Brighton, Michigan; sister-in-law Marlene Rivers of Marysville, Michigan and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Frank was born on November 28, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan, the eldest of five children. Throughout his life, he had a love of the automotive industry, leading eventually to his lifelong career as an engineer for General Motors; as well as a passion and collection of vintage automobiles.  He was fortunate to be able to retire early, and he and Barb spent many years traveling, and enjoying time as members of the Independence Squares and Clarkston Dance Club.  Frank was also a member of the Clarkston Rotary and Farmington Elks Club.

Memorial liturgy will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the Church of the Resurrection (6490 Clarkston Rd. Clarkston, MI 48346), visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Church of the Resurrection.
