Frederick C. Rosin, M.D.

Frederick Charles Rosin passed away suddenly on December 31, 2025, having lived a life of love and caring for others. He was 80 years old. Born November 12, 1945 in Saginaw, Michigan, to Elaine Plater Rosin and Frederick Rosin, Fred's life was rooted in kindness, quiet integrity, curiosity, and service.

Fred graduated from Arthur Hill High School before pursuing his education at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy and later the Wayne State University College of Medicine. It was family medicine that ultimately captured his heart - a field that perfectly matched his steady presence, deep compassion, and belief that listening was one of a physician's most important tools.

From 1979 to 1996, Fred practiced family medicine in Frankenmuth, where he became a trusted and beloved physician in the community. Patients knew him as a doctor who always put them first - never rushed, deeply attentive, and unwaveringly committed to their well-being. To some, he was simply their doctor, but to those who knew him well, they felt the depth of his care for them as human beings in his practice of patient-centered care.

In 1997, Fred joined the Wayne State University Family Medicine Program, where he served as Associate Program Director until 2016. During his years in residency education, Fred found a calling as a teacher and mentor. He was twice voted Warner Teacher of the Year, an honor especially meaningful because he was nominated by residents he taught. He took immense pride in helping shape the development of thoughtful, compassionate physicians from all walks of life, modeling the values he lived every day. Recognized by the peers in his field, Fred was named one of Metro Detroit's Best Doctors in 2008 as well as one of the Best Doctors in America® in 2015.

At the time of his death, Fred was continuing to practice medicine at Henry Ford Academic Medicine part-time, remaining devoted to patient care well into his later years. He was a proud member of the Michigan Family Physicians Group.

Fred is survived by Beth, his beloved wife of 56 years, and their three children: Annie (Arnon), Kirk (Lindsay), and Sarah (Bruce). He was a supportive grandfather to Luke, Alex, Lauren, Quinn, and Graham, who brought him joy and sincere pride. He is also survived by his sister Susan Suppes (Ken) and brothers Thomas Rosin and Timothy Rosin.

Quiet by nature but enthusiastic in his passions, Fred was a lifelong Michigan football fan, cheering loudly every fall. He never outgrew his love of model railroads and all things trains. Throughout his life, he was a disciplined organic gardener. He took pride in building the highest quality raised beds for his garden. Fred also had a deep love for classic cars, especially his 1971 blue Pontiac Formula 400 Firebird, which he bought new 55 years ago. He was a member of Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church in Clarkston and was guided by his faith throughout his life.

Fred's life was defined not by grand gestures, but by steady kindness, humility, and an unwavering commitment to others. He will be remembered as a devoted husband and father, a cherished grandfather, a trusted physician, a gifted teacher, and a gentle soul whose care made the world better, one person at a time.
