Gary Joseph Foster "Joe"
September 9, 1981 – July 4, 2023
Joe, 41 years old, left us for his final resting place on July 4, 2023. Joe was born in Memphis, Tennessee to Anne and Gary Foster. He is pre-deceased by his father, grandparents and cherished aunts. He is survived by his mother Anne Tuma, brother Michael Foster and his wife Kathy and their beloved sons Nikolas and Josef.
Joe had a loving and generous heart. He has been described as the man who would literally give you the shirt off his back. As a child, he spent many happy hours playing baseball. He was proud to always be chosen for the All-Star Team. He loved to swim, fish and ride bikes. In the bitter Michigan winters, he could hardly wait for the ice to freeze so he could play hockey with his brother and with his friends.
As an adult, he took pleasure in many of the simple things in life. He enjoyed cooking at the Waffle House. He loved to socialize while drinking cold brews at Benjamins. He had fun BBQing for his friends, going for long bike rides and watching the dolphins frolic in the shimmering blue waves.
Joe was very fashion conscious. At the time of his passing, he had 10 suits, 50 ties and at least 40 pairs of shoes. He always chose the right accessories to wear with his suits to go to church. Needless to say, he loved shopping.
Joe always listened to music. He preferred Gospel, Motown and old Rock and Roll. Sam Cooke was his favorite musician. His favorite song was "It's a Wonderful World" by Louie Armstrong.
Joe approached life with faith, loyalty and an unparalleled display of unconditional love.
