Gloria Patricia Smith

Gloria “Pat” Alvarado Smith; of Clarkston; born November 20, 1946, in Pontiac, MI; passed away on August 4, 2026, at home surrounded by her family; age 79.

Beloved wife of Leonard “Ken” Smith for 60 years; Loving mother of Jami (Gordon) Sommerville and David Smith; Proud grandmother of Jenna (Garnet) Sommerville-Potter, Jordon (Katy) Sommerville, Carter Smith, and Tanir Smith; Great grandmother to Everly Potter; Sister of Tonya (Julio) Fonseca, Tony (Tina) Alvarado, Lupe Alvarado, and Debora (Jim) West; Preceded in death by parents Guadalupe and Lilia Alvarado, siblings Bertha Latta and Richard Alvarado, and beloved dog Pepper Smith.

Pat attended Pontiac Northern High School where she met her husband, Ken. She was in the graduate class of 1964 and went on to obtain her associate’s degree in business from Oakland Community College. Pat worked as Site Engineer for Mich. Bell, Ameritech, and then AT&T where she ultimately retired from after dedicating 30 years. She enjoyed dancing, listening to music, scrapbooking, “Facebooking”, and making Rosaries. Most importantly, her favorite hobby was spending time with family, especially her grandkids. Her family was her greatest passion in life. Pat will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 10 at the Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service to take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 11 at 10:00am with visiting beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Clarkston.
