Homa Rahmanian (née Motamed), 89, passed away peacefully on 10/15/24. Born on January 1, 1935, in Iran, Homa led a life marked by dedication to her family, profession, and passions.
Homa completed her nursing studies at Tehran University and rose to become the head nurse at a prominent hospital in Tehran. It was there that she met her future husband, Ali Rahmanian, who was working as a medical intern at the time.
After marrying and welcoming their first child, Kathy, Homa and Ali embarked on a new chapter, moving to the United States in 1965. During her second pregnancy, Homa's artistic talents flourished as she created beautiful watercolor paintings inspired by Persian poetry. Following the birth of their son, Bobak (Bobby), the family settled in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, where they would spend the next several decades, while also enjoying time in Harbor Springs, Del Mar, California, and Naples, Florida, before moving back to Michigan.
Homa's life was rich with diverse interests. She was a golfer and hiker and enthusiast of several sports. Her culinary skills were legendary among family and friends, as she delighted in preparing elaborate Persian meals for gatherings. Homa's inherent kindness and warmth endeared her to all who knew her, making her a beloved figure in her community.
Above all, Homa was a devoted and attentive mother. Her nurturing spirit and gentle guidance shaped the lives of her children and all those fortunate enough to be around her.
Homa is survived by her loving husband Ali Rahmanian, MD, devoted mother of Kathy (Tony) Trask, and Dr. Bobak (Casey) Rahmanian; and adored grandmother of Jacob and Mason Trask and Layla and Cyrus Rahmanian. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and the enduring power of a life well-lived.
Family will receive friends at the Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On Saturday, October 26, 2024, Homa's family will have a private service, and interment at Crescent Hills Cemetery.
