James Collis

James "Jim" Collis, age 84, passed away on January 11, 2026.

Jim is son to the late Wilford and Ann (neé Bommarito) Collis; and the husband of the late Penelope (neé Bowers) Collis. He was also preceded in death by his brother Larry Collis.

He is survived in death by his sister Loretta Quinn; son Eric (Deborah Laske) Collis and daughter Victoria (Timothy) Uebbing;

Grandchildren Rachel and Connor James Collis, Bailey and Dmitry Uebbing and great grandson Ezra James Elkins; Nephew Jerome Quinn II.

Jim was born September 30, 1941 in Detroit. He graduated from Roseville High School and University of Detroit. He retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield in Detroit as a Sr. Programmer Analyst Specialist with many stories about mainframes to personal computers. Jim liked to keep busy and chat with people and spent some years working at Goodison General Store during retirement, which fit him perfectly.

Jim enjoyed many activities especially with friends and family. He was a member of the ABC H.O.G and later the Def Fuegos Harley clubs, member of the Corvette Club and home auto mechanic. Jim and Penny's house in Rochester, Michigan, was home to many family reunions and other grand events like their Annual Cider Walk.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Per Jim's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no services planned.
