James M. Smith

SMITH, James Mooar; of Waterford, Michigan; April 19, 2026; age 87. Husband of Carol (Shaw) Smith for 8 years; former husband of the late Carolyn Jo (Shrone) Smith for 52 years. Father of Rochelle (Massimo) Denipoti and Eric (Adrienne) Smith; stepfather of Scott (Angie) Shaw; grandfather of Giuliano, Isabella, Matteo and Lillian; step-grandfather of Mason and Savannah. Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Sergeant before his discharge in 1968. He enjoyed a distinguished career as a computer programmer, retiring from IBM before going on to consult in his field. Jim cherished the life that he shared with a community of family and friends at his long-time home on Watkins Lake. The family plans to celebrate Jim's life later in the summer.
