Obituary for Janeen "Dener" Galligan

Born Janeen Linda Ash

Janeen "Dener" Galligan, 73, passed away peacefully in Michigan, the state where she was born, raised, and to which she returned in 2019 after spending 22 wonderful years in Florida.

Born to the late Stanley L. Ash and Kathleen F. Ash, Janeen grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. She carried that same love and devotion into her own life as a mother, partner, sister, grandmother, and friend.

Janeen is survived by her devoted partner, Robert A. Styer of Lakeland, Florida, and by her five children: Eric (Esmeralda) Pechota, Kathleen (Mario) Jonguitud Calles, Gregory (Carrie) Galligan, and Jennifer (Michael) Neumann. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jeremy Galligan.

She also leaves behind her cherished siblings — Gary (Pat) Ash, Janell (Rich) Glantz, Kent (Diane) Ash, Stanley (Carla) Ash, and Janette "Susie Boober" (Steven) Dean — as well as her best friend of over fifty years, Debbie (Rick) Thomson, whose friendship was a constant source of laughter and comfort throughout Janeen's life.

Janeen was the proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren — Siarra, Brandon, Matthew, Marian, Colin, Melissa, Kaylea, Shawn, Colt, Cameron, and Cayla — and three great-grandchildren — Paige Ryan, Olivia Rae, and Alexandra Lea — who brought her immeasurable joy. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and their families.

Those who knew Janeen will remember her for her kindness, her humor, and her deep love for her family. Her warmth and spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Visitation Monday, October 13th from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Lewis E. Wint and Son Funeral Home, Clarkston.

Funeral Service Tuesday, October 14th at 10:00 am at the funeral home with visiting after 9:30am. Sabra Dettore will be the celebrant.
