Janet K. Modesitt

Modesitt, Janet K.; of Clarkston; age 82; August 17, 1943 – June 22, 2026. Daughter of the late Lorene May Modesitt and the late C. Keith Modesitt; sister of the late Donald E. (Linda) Modesitt of Rolla, MO and Kenneth L. (Jan K.) Modesitt of Ft. Wayne, IN. Aunt to Brian D. Modesitt, Keith B. Modesitt, Paul D. Modesitt and Kamarie A. Modesitt (Michael) Livingston. Special friend to the late Janet E. Servoss of Ft. Myers, FL and Sheryl S. Schreefel of Waterford, MI.

Janet was a mathematics teacher at Clarkston High School for 36 years and where she also coached girls' basketball for 13 years. She was an active member of the Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church in Clarkston, where she served in several capacities including lay reader, choir member, and Caring Companion Ministry. Janet graduated in 1965 with a major in mathematics and a minor in French from Lawrence University in Appleton, WI and a MAT in mathematics in 1972 from Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. Janet was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and Delta Kappa Gamma, a women teachers' international society. Janet was on the Board of Directors for the Clarkston Brandon Community Credit Union and served as a N.O.D.A. volunteer at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Oakland.

Friends may visit at the Lewis E. Wint and Son Funeral Home, Clarkston, Friday, June 26th from 4:00pm-8:00pm.

Funeral service Saturday, June 27th at 11:00am, at Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6805 Bluegrass Dr., Clarkston, MI, with Pastor Jonathan A. Heierman officiating.

Interment Lakeview Cemetery, Clarkston.

 Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church in Clarkston, the American Diabetes Association, or the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and Calvary Lutheran Church.
