In Loving Memory of Janis Meredith-Kelterborn

Cherished wife, mother grandmother, nurse and entrepreneur

Janis Meredith-Kelterborn (February 3,1942 –October 10, 2025)

Janis Meredith-Kelterborn, age 83, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 10, 2025. Born in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, Janis was the beloved only child of Hugh and Mabel Rush. Janis attended Purdue University, eventually earning her Nursing Degree in Michigan. Laying the foundation for a life devoted to caring for others.

Janis was a dedicated nurse who spent the early part of her career at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan working nights while also raising her young family alongside her husband Paul Meredith (August 4, 1939 – January 16, 1997), the father of her four children.  Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to start multiple businesses before she found her calling in the home care field. Through vision and tenacity, Janis became a leader in Michigan's home healthcare industry for several decades.

Janis is survived by her adoring and devoted husband of 36 years, Richard Kelterborn. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and treasured memories, especially of summers spent at their cottage in Caseville, Michigan, hosting their children and grandchildren. Janis took immense pride in her family and found joy in every moment spent with them.

She will be dearly missed by her three daughters: Christina Meredith (Mark Cicero), Michelle Meredith (Kyle Kerbawy), and Melissa Armin-Parcells (David Armin-Parcells); her son Michael Meredith (Cindy Hecht); stepson Charles Kelterborn (Juli Kelterborn); daughter-in-law Palmira Meredith;  adored grandchildren: Zachery, Brooke, and Alex Cicero; Carter Kerbawy; Chelsea Unger (Garrett Unger); Michael Meredith; Caitlin Meredith (Matt Kokotovich); Madison Draves (Wyatt Draves); Samantha Kelterborn, and great-grandchildren Savannah and Amelia Unger, and Theodore Draves.

She is also survived by her cousin Glenda Carter Copass, and by numerous devoted members of the Kelterborn family, all of whom were touched by her kindness and will continue to cherish her memory.

A visitation for Janis will be held on Thursday October 16th from 3:00pm-8:00pm with a time of sharing at 4:00pm at the Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston.
