Jennifer Lynn Dougherty

DOUGHERTY, Jennifer Lynn "Jeni"; born May 31, 1979 in Madison Heights, MI; of Clarkston; passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on June 7, 2024 after a short battle with a highly malignant brain tumor; age 45;

high school sweetheart and wife of Nick for 17 years; mother of Stella and Violet; daughter of Michelle (Aaron Buck) Rhead and Don (Ning) Dybowski; older sister of Beth (Pam McClatchey) Dybowski and Colin Rhead; daughter in law of Pat and Penny Dougherty; sister in law of Jenni (Rick) Briones and Lindsay (Jeff Woodward) Dougherty; aunt of Dominic, Antonio and Adrianna.

Jeni graduated in 1997 from Hazel Park High School, where she met Nick. She earned a Bachelor's degree from Oakland University. She was always an involved parent advocate with her daughters' education and eventually became employed at Independence Elementary as a school aide.  Jeni had a tender heart for animals in need and was always on the lookout to help a lost pet and advocate for their care. She enjoyed family adventures, from traveling abroad to Italy to visiting many National Parks to family camping outings. Platte Lake was always a favorite destination and holds several special memories.  Jeni will be remembered for her infectious laugh, singing along to 90's Rap music, her deep love for family & friends, and her greatest pride of being a mom.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 18th at 11 am at St. Daniel Catholic Church, Clarkston followed by a celebration of life gathering at Addison Oaks - Buhl Estate at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, any donations may be made to K9 Stray Rescue League , The Rainbow Connection or to the family to be used for her daughters' future education.
