Jesse T. Gerrard

GERRARD, Jesse T.; of Auburn Hills, formerly of Northville; born November 5, 1935, in Detroit; passed away on February 17, 2026, at the age of 90.

Reunited with his beloved wife of almost 54 years Vivian Gerrard; loving father of Patricia (Frank) Kimmel and Julie (Gerald) Prutow; proud grandfather of Jacob (Rachael), Sophie, and Elijah. Preceded in death by parents Walter and Catherine Gerrard, and siblings Dorothy, Walter and George.

Jesse graduated from Cass Tech high school in Detroit. He then went on to serve 6 honorable years in the Army National Guard. Jesse earned his bachelor's degree from Wayne State University. He started off in the mail room of Detroit Mutual Insurance at only 17 years old, eventually working his way up to Controller. He spent the next 47 years of his life dedicated to his job even earning a position on the Board. In his free time, Jesse enjoyed reading, writing, golfing, being out in nature, and spending time working in his yard, which he was very meticulous about. Jesse liked to stay busy, he even dabbled in trying to learn guitar. Jesse and Vivian enjoyed traveling when they could. That included going to Sanibel Island, Saugatuck, Hawaii, and vacationing in Mexico. He honed his writing skills writing poetry and short stories.

A Memorial Service will be held at Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home on Saturday May 16th at 1pm with visiting at the funeral from 12 Noon until the time of service.
