SIMSACK, John F.; of Clarkston formerly of Lake Orion; born January 24, 1928 in Gladwin to Polish immigrants Joseph and Stella Simsack (Szymczak); passed away on February 2, 2025 at the age of 97;

father of Gary (Jan) Simsack, Joe Simsack, Mike (Jenni) Simsack, Carla (Dave) Brodacki and the late Steve Brown; grandpa "Paw" of Tim Simsack, Eric Simsack, Mike (Kristina) Simsack, Beth Simsack, Brad (Wendy) Cogan, Tiffany (Fiancé Bill Hohmann) Cogan, Stephanie Brown, Joshua (Wendi) Brown and Jennifer (Eric) Lang; also many great grandchildren and nieces/nephews. John outlived his 7 siblings: Stephen Szymczak, Henry Simsack, Helen Tuck, Jennie Allison, Mary Eva Anderson, Sophie August and Edwin "Eddie" Simsack.

John joined the U.S. Army at age 17 and served in Hawaii after World War II. After serving his country, he became a hard working Pattern Maker in Tool & Die. He retired from Progress Pattern a former division of Lear Corporation, Southfield and formerly owned/operated Multi-Craft Enterprises, Lake Orion. He was a talented gunsmith, enjoyed big game hunting and visiting casinos. He loved horses and trips out West. John continued to drive, be independent and was known to many locally as "cowboy John".

Family services entrusted to Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston.

Interment Highland Cemetery, Gladwin.
