Joyce loved nature and art. She appreciated the beauty of the world and she enjoyed teaching others how to appreciate it as well. Over the course of her life, she started and owned three businesses including Kettering Ceramics and Data Management Shared Office Services, both in Dayton, Ohio, and most recently Accent Flowers and Gifts in Waterford, MI.

After she sold her last business in 2011, Joyce moved to a condo in Lake Orion where she spent her days talking with friends and family, working in her garden, and enjoying the birds and wildlife that she often fed on her back deck.

Although she had some health issues, Joyce was able to live independently right up until her last trip to the hospital around St. Patrick's Day of this year. That visit would turn out to be her last as her health issues increased and compounded rapidly after she was admitted.

Joyce was preceded in death by Tom, the love of her life and husband of more than 40 years, as well as her father, mother, brother, and sisters. She is survived by her son Mark, her granddaughter Rachel, her future daughter-in-law Shawn, her brother-in-law Jim and sister-in-law Joanne, as well as her friends and acquaintances.

Joyce was loving, loyal, generous, and caring. She always had a warm smile and a kind word. She will be forever missed, but always in our hearts and memories.

A memorial lunch for Joyce will be held on Sunday July 27th, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Overtyme Grill located at 4724 Dixie Highway, Waterford, MI 48329. If you are planning to attend, please RSVP to mrochford91@gmail.com
