Kara Nowak

NOWAK, Kara Serbenski; of Clarkston formerly of Detroit and Sterling Heights;

born March 25, 1969 in Highland Park;

passed away unexpectedly on April 19, 2025 of natural causes at the age of 56;

dedicated wife of Derek for 30 years; devoted mother of Parker Nowak; preceded in death by baby Kyle; daughter of Donna (the late Ken) Serbenski; sister of Kevin (Julie) Serbenski and the late Kelly Serbenski; supportive aunt of Rylie, Connor, Jake, Samantha, Amanda, Austin and Selena;

Kara enjoyed spending time with family at their Higgins Lake cottage.  Many memories were made near water: fishing, boating and even sitting by the pool in Florida. Traveling was always an adventure, from trips to Arizona as a Detroit Lions fan to the exotic destinations of Italy, Africa and Morocco. Kara liked to vegetable garden and watch crime shows on the television. She was a woman of Catholic faith and was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church and also attended Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church.

Friends may visit Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston on Thursday, April 24th from 3:00pm-8:00pm.

Funeral Mass Friday, April 25th at 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, Waterford with visiting directly at the church at 10:00am.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
