GENO, Kristina L.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, Kristina, who passed away unexpectedly on July 13, 2026, following a prolonged illness at the age of 47.
Kristina was a loving daughter, devoted sister, cherished family member, and loyal friend. She graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Communications before following her adventurous spirit to Colorado, where she made her home. There, she built a successful career with Occidental Petroleum, working as a field engineer. She approached her work with intelligence, determination, and professionalism, earning the respect of those who knew and worked with her.
Beyond her career, Kristina found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved creating intricate origami, reading, and spending hours immersed in detailed coloring books. She was an avid movie fan, with a special fondness for The Fast and the Furious films. Whenever she was able, she enjoyed taking long walks in nature, finding peace and comfort in the beauty of the outdoors.
Kristina embraced life with courage and independence. She loved the beauty of Colorado and created a life filled with purpose, hard work, and meaningful relationships. Though her time with us was far too short, the memories she leaves behind will be treasured forever.
She is survived by her loving parents, Mark and Karen Geno; her brother, Matthew (Christine) Geno; she was the godmother and aunt of Alexander Geno; and loving aunt of Benjamin and Charles Geno. Kristina is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends, all of whom will miss her deeply.
Kristina's kindness, strength, and gentle spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched.
Memorial Visitation Tuesday, August 11th from 4 – 8 pm at the Lewis E. Wint and Son Funeral Home, Clarkston.
Memorial Mass to celebrate Kristina's life will be held Wednesday, August 12th at 11 am at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those wishing to honor Kristina's memory do so through an act of kindness or a donation to a charity of their choice.
Kristina will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
