Lil Farrugia

FARRUGIA, Lillian J., of Clarkston, passed away on September 15, 2026. Loving wife of Frank Farrugia; Mother of Renee (Greg) Avery, Dawn Farrugia, and Mark (Nancy) Farrugia; Grandmother of Brianna, Evan, Morgan (David), Brooke, Kevin, Brent, and Courtney; Great Grandmother of Amaiya, Jamison, Gabriella, and Anastasia. Preceded in death by Marie Gagnon.

Lil and Frank built a beautiful life together centered around family and friends. They lived and raised their children in Oak Park, where Lil was involved in helping with school functions and also working at the junior high school. She loved to bowl alongside her friends in various bowling leagues. She would often spend summer evenings on the front porch with a glass of iced tea watching her children play and chatting with neighbors. As her neighborhood friends launched a business, Lil was the first to join their team to help produce earplugs. The business grew alongside their friendship that spanned over 60 years. She loved being able to reconnect with family at the annual Farrugia Family Thanksgiving Reunion. After retirement, Lil and Frank moved to Waterford where they created new memories and new friends and lived for more than 20 years. Lil would host the girls over for cards or other games they enjoyed playing. She also spent time at the community senior activity center, where Bunco was one of her favorites. Lil would save up her quarters for her once-a-year trip to the casino, where she loved to play the slots, and more often than not she would come home with winnings. Her favorite time each year was family camping. She would prepare months in advance making sure everything was ready for the weeklong festivities. She enjoyed the chance to play Euchre, canoe and take on a Ladder Ball game. In 2024, Lil and Frank moved to Clarkston, where they found a warm and welcoming community to be a part of. Lil was always thinking about her friends and family, she kept a calendar that included all of their birthdays and special events. She let them know she was always thinking about them with a carefully chosen birthday card each year. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
