HALL, LORAINE C, (formerly Loraine Mary Coon) age 91 of Clarkston died peacefully, July 21, 2023. Born May 13, 1932 in Flint MI was the beloved wife of Thomas (Wells Hall II) for 61 years. The mother of Thomas Jackson Hall (Edith) of White Lake MI and preceded in death by James Philip Hall (Jenny, Eve) of Clarkston MI. Grandmother of Thomas Charles Hall of Highland MI and David James Hall of Linden MI. Her parents were James Judson Coon and Mary Rose Cassidy formerly of Jackson and Pontiac MI, and Brothers, James (Audrey) Coon and Robert (Phyliss) Coon.
Loraine was Registered Nurse of the Henry Ford School of Nursing (Class of 53) and Bachelor Graduate of St. Josephs College, Windham Maine. She was retired from a long career as a Nurse Educator including service with the Oakland County Health Department and Oakland Livingston Human Services Agency.
Loraine was a lifelong member and served in the many activities of the First Presbyterian Church of Pontiac, including the Deacons, and Christian Education. She most enjoyed her time with her sons and grandsons' families at their family homestead and their northern cottage which she and her husband built themselves. She also enjoyed many family trips in pursuit of the lives and locations of many ancestors. Some of these travels were accomplished in their own private plane which she soloed in many years ago. Both greatly enjoyed the outdoors, most notably the family homestead in Clarkston. Their great passion for conservation and stewardship resulted in the perpetual preservation of the property through their association with the Blue Heron Headwaters Conservancy. Loraine was a great lover and adopter of pets, many through the regional Humane Society and having never been without a dog for over 60 years.
A Celebration of Life event will be scheduled, in lieu of a funeral, in the near future. Internment will occur privately at the family plots.
The family would appreciate any memorials (in lieu of any flowers) to the First Presbyterian Church of Pontiac or the Blue Heron Headwaters Conservancy
