Loubell Vaneta Canterbury (Black), 86, of Clarkston, Michigan passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025 at her home, with family at her side. She was born April 7, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri.

She worked as a Human Resources Manager at several companies in the Washington, D.C area before retiring. She was an active member and volunteer at the Tyger River Presbyterian Church in Reidville, South Carolina and was active in the Spartanburg Red Hat Ladies society and various other civic groups. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, gardening, and hosting elaborate dinner parties for family and friends. Ms. Canterbury attended Salem High School in Salem, Missouri.

She is survived by her sons Michael Drown of St. Louis, Missouri and Russell Drown of Clarkston, Michigan, as well as Eric Fleming and Celli Geyer, the children of her partner of 35 years, Michael Fleming, who passed away in 2023.

Ms. Canterbury also is survived by her nieces Cheryl Carls and Ginny Schlais and nephews Terry and David Black, and will be missed by countless friends in St. Louis, Missouri, the Washington D.C. area and Spartanburg, South Carolina as well as other cities across the country.
