Maria "Beanz" Therese Ruhala, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on June 22nd, 2024, in Pontiac, Michigan. She was born on August 9th, 1962, in Royal Oak to the late Joseph and Mary Ruhala. Maria Graduated from Clarkston high school in 1980 and continued to live in Clarkston community for many years. Maria's passing has left a void that cannot be filled for her family and friends. As a devoted daughter and sister, Maria always put her family first. She cherished the memories of growing up with her brothers Joseph Ruhala and Anthony Ruhala (Kris), as well as her sisters Kathy Hanyok (John) and Ann Hubbard (Bruce). Her love extended to her nephews Johnny (Adrianne), Nathan (Daniela), Lucas (Liz), Garrett; nieces Andrea (Rick), Kristin (Kyle), Anna (Stephen), Matthew, Kallan; and her Great nieces and nephews.
Maria had an unwavering passion for helping others which led her to pursue a career in recreation therapy after graduating from Michigan State University. The impact she made through her profession will continue to be felt by those she helped along the way. In addition to being dedicated to her work and family life, Beanz also loved fishing, golfing and playing games with those closest to her heart. Whether it was board games during holidays, outdoor activities or during vacations to Florida, she cherished every moment spent laughing and creating lasting memories with loved ones. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew Beanz - not only for the joy she brought into their lives but also for the kindness, support, and compassion she showed everyone around here. She leaves behind a legacy of love, care, and selflessness that will forever remain etched in our hearts. The world has lost an extraordinary soul whose presence illuminated every room she entered. Beanz's memory will live on through those whose lives she touched, and though we mourn this loss, it is important that we celebrate the beautiful life she lived.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday June 27, 2024, from 4-8 p.m. at the Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association in Beanz's name. Please leave memory or condolence below.
