Mark Niesluchowski, age 63, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
A lifelong Michigan resident, Mark treasured family above all else. He had an enormous heart, a quick sense of humor, and was always the one who could make people laugh. He was thoughtful in countless small ways, often arriving with flowers or little gifts for those he loved — keeping more than a few florists in business over the years.
Mark shared happy years with Mary Arellano, and together they lovingly raised their son, Michael, who was the pride and center of Mark's life. He loved Michael with all his heart and cherished every moment they spent together — watching movies, traveling, camping, participating in Boy Scout activities, and simply enjoying each other's company. Mark and Mary worked together to provide a strong and supportive life for Michael, and Mark's devotion as a father will always be remembered.
Mark loved visiting family in Arizona, where he enjoyed exploring the region's history and sharing what he learned with Michael. A lifelong learner and avid reader, he especially enjoyed history and could carry on thoughtful conversations on countless topics. Holidays and family gatherings were especially important to him, and he never missed an opportunity to bring laughter with one of his jokes. Mark graduated from Shrine High School in Royal Oak. He worked more than twenty years as a service manager at an auto dealership, later continuing his career as a postal employee with the United States Postal Service for eleven years. He will be remembered as a proud and loving father, a good-natured man, and someone who truly enjoyed being around people. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mark is survived by his beloved son, Michael Niesluchowski; friend and mother of Michael, Mary Arellano; his siblings Deborah Dustman, Matt (Marsha) Niesluchowski, Wally (Janice) Niesluchowski, Amy Niesluchowski, and Bradley Niesluchowski; his nieces and nephews Kirsten (Brandon), Michael, Nicholas, David, Anthony, Monet, Nicklis, Bradley, Jasmine, and Jonathon; and his great nieces and nephews Michael, Allora, Madalyn, Thomas, and Jude, along with extended family members who will forever cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Shirley Niesluchowski.
A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, February 9, 2026, at 12:00 PM at St. Daniel Catholic Church in Clarkston, with visitation beginning at the church at 11:30 AM.
Burial in the family plot at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery will take place later in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mark's honor may be made to a charity of your choice.
Family and friends are invited to share memories and condolences in the online guestbook.
