Matthew R. Pierce

PIERCE, Matthew Richard; of Clarkston; passed away on November 6, 2023, at the age of 67; loving husband of 34 years to Georgia Pierce; caring father of Coulton and Rachel Pierce; brother of John Pierce, Kathleen Johnson, Loretta Ritter, David Pierce, and Robert Pierce; preceded in death by his brother Mark Pierce and his parents Wilson and Roseann Pierce. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Matt worked in the textile and automotive supply industry for over 40 years. He had many successes and accolades throughout his career. Yet to Matt, he believed his greatest accomplishment were his two children; instilling in them his sense of humor, generosity, and love for life.

Matt was a kind soul who was passionate about cooking, music, the beach, hunting, and the peaceful solitude of nature. But most of all, Matt loved spending quality time with his friends and family over a cold beer and a good plate of food. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.

A Celebration of Life will take place for Matt at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Charles A. Main, M.D. Pediatric Cancer Survivor Scholarship Fund (Beaumont Health Foundation) or to the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation Carolina Classic .
