Michael John Laplante

LaPlante, Michael John; well known as "Mountain Man"; born in Pontiac on February 26, 1955 to Fredrick and Joyce LaPlante; of Davisburg formerly of Walled Lake and Holly; passed away unexpectedly after a short illness on September 28, 2024 at the age of 69;

husband of Crystal for 29 years; father of Jami (Steve) Baran and Cody LaPlante; brother of Mark LaPlante, Dale (Gayle) LaPlante and Sandy LaPlante; brother in law of Rhonda Paytas, Stanley (Rita) Lamrouex, Jr and the late James Lamrouex; uncle of Sabrina Farrell, Shawn Farrell, Samantha LaPlante, Tiffany LaPlante, Rachel LaPlante, Steven LaPlante, Melanie Nicholson, BreAnne Gugin, Jennette LaPlante and Christine Kearcher; also survived by cousins: Roxanne Loeffler, Rene Loeffler and aunts: Joanne Powers and Vicki LaPlante.

Mike was the mountain manager at Mt. Holly ski lodge for over 30 years. He worked as a maintenance man at Oakhill Estates and was a tattoo artist in downtown Holly. He became an ordained minister in 2013 and performed weddings; performing the wedding of his daughter was an especially important honor for him. Mike will be remembered as a man of all trades with many talents.  He enjoyed going to garage sales, gardening and fishing. He was an avid music lover and he especially liked listening to rock, country and Elvis Presley.

Friends may visit Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 1st at 12 Noon with a Funeral Service at 1:00pm.
