Nancy E. Dawson

DAWSON, Nancy Elizabeth age 79 of Clarkston, passed unexpectedly on September 13, 2026.

Loving mother of James M. (Michaelle) Dawson, Jr. adored grandma of Marion E. Walters, Samuel Donnelly, Maxwell Donnelly, and Ava Donnelly, dearest sister to Laura Page, and beloved sister-in-law, aunt and friend of many.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents William and Carol Clifford, her daughter, Carrie Moody, and father of her children, and ex-husband, James M. Dawson, Sr.

Nancy was a highly motivated educator and loved being a first-grade teacher at Belle Ann Elementary School in the Brandon School District for 35 years. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and spoiling her dogs. Beyond her many years of teaching children, Nancy was a devoted mom and grandma to her children and grandchildren. Her life was made up of educating, nurturing, loving and cheering her children and grandchildren on in all parts of life. Her presence will be missed, but her legacy will live on in the many lives she has touched.

Family will receive friends at the Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston, on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 12:00 noon until the funeral service at 1:00 pm, with cremation to follow. Burial will be later in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Brandon School District, Harvey Swanson Elementary School Student Council who will create a living memorial in honor of Mrs. Dawson.
