MORA, Omar; of Grand Blanc formerly of Pontiac; born May 17, 1935 in Brownsville, Texas to Jose and Maria Mora; passed away on January 10, 2025 at the age of 89;
husband of Sofia (nee Trevino) for 66 years; father of David (Shelli) Mora, the late Daniel Mora, the late Diana Mora, Dalila Jimenez, Alexis Mora and Jasmine Mora; grandfather "Papi" of Amber (Brett) Rosen, the late Candace Mora, Andrea (Greg) Gochnour, Daniel (Alex) Mora Jr., Cordero (Katelyn) Jimenez, Michelle ( Tom) Schmitt, and Kirsty (Cam) Jimenez; also survived by 13 great grandchildren; brother of Betsy Juarez, Reina Mora, Linda Palacios and Nereida Hanojosa.
Omar served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from General Motor in 2004. He was a charter member of First Spanish American Baptist Church. Omar enjoyed vegetable gardening; not only did he have a green thumb, but all of God's creatures were drawn to him. He was very talented musically and played instruments (piano, guitar, harmonica) by ear. Omar will be remembered as a family man, who loved spending time with his loved ones.
Friends may visit Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston on Sunday, January 19th from 4:00pm-8:00pm.
Funeral Service Monday, January 20th at 11:00am at First Spanish American Baptist Church, Pontiac with visiting at the church at 10:00am.
Cemetery Service with military honors Tuesday, January 21st at 2:00pm at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association .
