Omelia Mae Lawson Klingbiel, lovingly known as "Melie"; born August 23, 1943 in Maryville, MO; passed away May 14, 2026 at the age of 82.
Melie attended Durant Tori Mott School in Flint, Michigan where she made many lifelong friends. She was a Girl Scout earning many badges and attended Summer camp every year. She worked at Ahead Inc., a sheltered workshop, for many years and traveled with family to California, Hawaii, Colorado, Florida and Canada. She travelled to Europe with the Victim Missionaries to Lourdes, France, and had an audience with the Pope at the Vatican in Italy.
She enjoyed making and giving gifts to friends and family and spent countless hours hooking rugs, embroidering on canvas, or crocheting on a loom. She also loved animals especially her beloved dog Bell Bell, playing cards, Bingo, socializing and doing puzzles.
She had a very patient, determined, generous spirit and was an inspiration to all who knew her.
She was loved and will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, her sister Martha (Tim) Wright and nieces Emily and Sarah, as well as the love of her life, Dallas Dusseau.
Memorials may be made to United Cerebral Palsy Association or The Michigan Humane Society.
Services entrusted to Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston.
