Patrick A. Mardney

Mardney, Patrick Alexander; age 90, passed away peacefully April 29, 2024 with his daughter at bedside. He was born March 18, 1934 in Detroit.  Patrick is predeceased by his parents Albert G. Mardney and Sadie E. Shammos, along with his brother Albert Mardney Jr. "Sonny". Patrick had three children with Mary Mardney; Patrick (Anne) Mardney, Lynda (Brian) O'Neil, and Susan (Kevin) Boyne. Beloved grandfather of Christina O'Neil, Brendan O'Neil, Madison Mardney, London Mardney, and Lauren Boyne. Loving brother to Joy Darlene (Gasper) Piazza. Caring uncle of many, and best friend of David Mark. Upon graduating high school, Patrick served in the Navy during the Korean war as a communications officer. After being discharged, he then graduated with a Bachelors and Masters from Wayne State University. Patrick worked with Oakland County Schools from 1970 - 1994. Patrick's motto was "Live, Laugh, Love", and that's exactly what he did. Patrick spent his time traveling the world, gardening, and spoiling his five grandchildren as much as possible. Family was so important for Patrick. He always made sure there was a gathering of family for every holiday and birthday. He was always present at every grandchild's recital, sporting event, and ceremony. Patrick's family will receive friends on Thursday, May 16th from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm, at the Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home  5929 S. Main Street, Clarkston.  Memorial mass will be held Friday, May 17th at 11:00 am at St. Daniel Catholic Church, Clarkston. Inurnment and military honors will be held at All Saints Cemetery following mass.
