Roth, Raymond Glen .. "Ray" - age 83, of Holly formerly of Waterford was born June 17, 1941 in Pontiac to the late George and Dona Roth. He went Very Peacefully to the Arms of Jesus on April 12, 2025. Ray was the Beloved Husband of Janice for 60 years. Their "sign" was always Three hand squeezes, i.e. "I Love You" .. which Janice did as he Gently passed up to Heaven. He was the Loving Father of Leeanne (Gordon) Smith, Kurt (Jodi) Roth and Mark Roth. He was the Adored Grandpa/Papa of Josh Smith, Kelsey Roth and Jake Roth; He was "Baby" Brother of the late Dorothy (the late Don) Gregory, Joan (the late Patrick) Keating and the late Kenneth (the late Sharon) Roth. Ray is also survived by Cherished Nieces and Nephews.
Ray attended Spring Arbor Junior College and earned his Bachelors Degree in Education from Greenville College, Greenville, IL in 1965. He Loved being a 6th (at times with 5th) Grade Teacher at Waterford Douglas Houghton Elementary School with the last 5 years at Pierce Middle School. He did so for over 30 years. Several years ago a former Student posted, "Who was your Favorite Waterford Teacher?" Within a year Ray received 300+ "Mr. Roth, my 6th Grade Teacher." He Loved his Students, and They Knew it!
Ray Also Loved Cars .. OLD Cars! In the '60s he and Janice used to 'Cruise Woodward' and "Play the Role" as he put it ... the beginnings of "The Dream Cruise."
He also Loved Running and got his Kids going at it, which has Lasted All of these years!
Ray was a Kind man who never talked badly about people. He Loved His Savior Lord, his Family, his Church and Everyone else.
Ray was well cared for at Lourdes and Waterford Senior Center Encore "Club" was his Fun "go to" Spot!
We feel Great Peace knowing that he is Free from the anguish of Alzheimer's and any future devastation that it would bring. He is Safely Home with Jesus. Yet, Our Hearts Hurt as we Miss him Soo Much.
John 11:25-26 NIV Jesus said to her, "I am the Resurrection and the Life. The one who Believes in Me will Live, even though they die; and whoever lives by Believing in Me will Never die. Do you Believe this?" ... Praise God! YES, We Do!!!
