SLABBEKOORN JR., Robert (Bob) Alan; passed away on May 14, 2024 at the age of 61. Bob is survived by his daughters, Tiffany (Shawn) Stankewich and Trinity (Darryl) Slabbekoorn; his sister, Kim (Donny) Pinson; and his nieces, Stephanie (Joe) Smith and Jessica Smith.
Bob was born on August 2, 1962 at the Fort Hood military base in Texas to Robert and Ruthie Slabbekoorn. He grew up in Kentwood, Michigan and always held a love for the west side of the state. He married Deidre Slabbekoorn in 1984 and shared twenty years of marriage together, where they welcomed two beautiful daughters, and continued to remain friends throughout the years.
Bob was passionate about spending time with his family and friends, music, and sports. He was especially fond of playing the drums and Detroit sports teams. Bob was a friend to everybody he encountered and had a contagious enthusiasm for life, even in times of trouble. He was a man of strong faith and spent much of his time deepening his relationship with his Savior.
His daughters remember him as a man whose favorite role in life was being a Dad. He was encouraging, compassionate, sentimental, reliable, and loved them beyond measure. He never took life too seriously and could always find humor in every situation. He was witty, sarcastic, and often ended conversations by reminding them to, "Have fun!". He was a guiding force in both of their lives and will continue to be forever in their hearts.
According to his wishes, cremation for Bob has taken place and there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you share your fondest memories of him by leaving a post on Bob's online guestbook below. The family would like to thank the wonderful hospital staff at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital Royal Oak for their care.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7
