GALLENTINE, Ross Sawyer "Biff"; of Clarkston formerly of Bloomfield Hills; born August 7, 1954 in Highland Park to William and Beverly Gallentine; passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Friday, April 10, 2026 at the age of 71.
Loving father of Lisa (Dan) Fader. Doting and supportive grandpa of Trinity and Gianni Fader. Best friend of Cindy Montgomery. Brother of Scott (Becky) Gallentine. Uncle of Rachel (Teddy) Coleman and Zachary (Esther) Gallentine. Also survived by many great nieces/nephews, cousins and many friends. Ross was especially close to his Paxton cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents and his beloved daughter, Mary.
Ross was raised in a loving family who molded him into an amazing person.
He graduated from Andover High School in 1972 and earned a bachelor's degree in architecture from Lawrence Technological University. After a successful career as an architect and later a project manager/developer, Ross retired in 2022. He continued to share his talents by volunteering in planning /development for Independence Township Parks & Recreation and the Independence Township Library.
He loved the outdoors, taking walks and being by water, especially listening to the waves at Lake Michigan. Ross also loved animals, whether watching the birds, deer in his back yard and cared for many dogs over the years.
Ross enjoyed adventure. He was able to check many experiences off his bucket list: hot air balloon ride, dog sledding in the Upper Peninsula, a family cruise trip and even skydiving on his 71st birthday. He was kind and generous with both his money and his time. His love language was doing things for others. When Ross walked into a room, everyone knew it was going to be a great day because he would bring a smile with his humor and fun loving ways.
