Sarah Elizabeth (Troxler) Chorak
September 2, 1935 – October 4, 2025

Sarah Elizabeth Chorak passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on Saturday, October 4, 2025, one month after celebrating her 90th birthday.

Born in North Canton, Ohio, to Mabel and Gordon Troxler, Sarah graduated from Florida Southern College with a degree in Interior Design. She served as editor of the yearbook, was Homecoming Queen, and once escorted architect Frank Lloyd Wright at an occasion she treasured all her life. She also made history as the first female coxswain featured in Life magazine.

After college, she returned to Ohio and began a career in interior design, creating restaurants and commercial spaces, including one of the earliest Arby's Restaurant locations. While working in a furniture store, she met her future husband, Bob. She thought he might be a little too confident for his own good, but he was just confident enough to win her over. A few years later they married, beginning a partnership that lasted more than sixty years.

A force of nature in a small frame, Sarah was tough, smart, and endlessly creative. She filled her family's life with beauty, connection, and love, and was their "Julie McCoy," keeping everyone together through shared meals, laughter, and traditions.

She cherished Marco Island, Florida, especially the white sands of Tigertail Beach, a place she first visited with her father in the 1950s and later shared with her own family. The Surf Club at Marco Island was where she felt most at peace, surrounded by the natural beauty and vitality she loved throughout her life.

Sarah is survived by her husband, Robert Chorak; daughter, Chris Chorak (Paul Lundgren); son, Bobby Chorak (Carrie Klein); grandsons, Luke and Cole Lundgren and Fynn Chorak; step-grandsons, Shae and Jeulien Bagley-Klein; her brother, Charles "Bud" Troxler; and tirelessly dedicated nephew Mike Crossk.

She will be remembered for her strength, creativity, and unstoppable spirit, qualities that helped shape the family she and Bob built together.
