HOLLEY, Sheila Mae; of Clarkston, MI formerly of Westminster, SC for 27 years; passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on May 19, 2023; age 82; wife of Lynn Paul Holley; mother of Rand (Patricia) Rodriguez, Tamela (John) Rigg, Ann (Mike) Kellogg, Lynn Suzanne (Mark) Pfeiffer & Mary (Tony) D'Arca; grandma of Brandon Rodriguez, Joshua (Rhiannon) Rigg, Adam (Jennifer) Rigg, Elizabeth Kellogg, Johnny Kellogg, Suzanne Pfeiffer, Emma Pfeiffer, Lily Pfeiffer, Julia D'Arca & Tony D'Arca; great grandma of Mason, Layla, Aurora & Ellery; sister of late Joe (late Claudia) Kuncaitis, Bob (MaryAnn) Kuncaitis & late Diana Marie Ohman Retcher; survived by many nieces & nephews.
Sheila married at the young age of 18 and in her early 30's found out the difficulties of being a single mom. Working hard to provide for her family, she found work at Sentry Drug Stores/CVS in Roseville and quickly moved up to being a store manager for many years, creating long lasting friendships. She then met Lynn at a Parents Without Partners dance. Marriage soon followed and they moved down to Westminster, SC and into a retirement community at Chickasaw Pointe. There they established a large base of friends and soon found themselves enjoying gardening, golf, tennis, dancing and pickleball. Sheila even ran in the Boston Marathon and was able to enjoy travel to Europe, Costa Rica, and Mexico in her later years. She was a talented watercolor painter and basket weaver and many of her creations have ended up in family and friends' homes. Sheila and Lynn had a reputation of being very social; together they were the life of a party at Chickasaw Pointe. They boated, enjoyed oyster roasts together and attended and planned many of their community's social events. Many times, you could find Sheila and Lynn dressed up to ring the Salvation Army bell and greeting visitors at the town Welcome Center. An interesting note, Sheila had many photos standing alongside store, sports team, and city mascots. She was an avid reader in her later years and enjoyed her Kindle playing "Words with Friends' ', and all sorts of games such as Uno, Yahtzee, and Farkle. Sheila will be missed by many, and will always remain alive in their thoughts.
