Thomas J. Stephens

Stephens, Thomas J. Stephens, of Lake Orion, MI passed away on September 21, 2024, age 79, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident that occurred on September 19, 2024. Tom was born in Detroit on August 27, 1945, to Jean (Hyner) Stephens and David R. Stephens. He was preceded in death by both parents, his sister, Toni Stephens, and a brother, Scott Stephens.

Tom is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Stephens Richard (Nick) of Jackson, MI, brothers, David Stephens of Waterford, MI, Mark Stephens (Edna) of Holly, MI, and a half-brother, Daryl Royal (Jennifer) of Wayne, MI, as well as several cousins.

Tom was a proud veteran and received a Purple Heart for his service in Vietnam along with the Vietnam Service Medal w/2 Bronze Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.  A sales consultant for most of his career, Tom was an award-winning salesman for both New York Life Insurance and Palace Chrysler Plymouth Jeep. He proudly served as a reserve policeman for the Waterford MI Police Department and Oakland County Sheriff's Department for many years. Tom enjoyed playing the organ, gardening, photography, doing calligraphy, and completing crossword puzzles.

Interment will be on October 10, 2024, at 12:30 PM at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.  A Celebration of Life luncheon will follow.
