Tony Martinez

MARTINEZ, Tony; born June 12, 1932 in Port Huron to Antonia and  Joseph Leonardo Chato" Martinez; of Waterford; passed away May 2, 2024; age 91;

preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mary. Father of Kevin Martinez. Grandfather of Jennifer (James) Meyer and Nicholas Martinez. Great Grandfather of Jasmine Meyer.  Brother of Victor (late Bonnie) Martinez, Josephine (late Don) Woodruff, Amelia Mujadin, Dolores (late Frank) Vasquez and Martha Lum. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Tony graduated from Pontiac Central High School and served as a U.S. Marine. He was formerly a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Pontiac. He retired as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Pontiac/Waterford. He was athletic and enjoyed playing sports, especially as a 2nd baseman in baseball. Later in life, he liked watching sports and was an avid U of M fan. He often could be found tinkering in his garage.

Friends may visit Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston on Friday, May 10th at 11:30 am with a memorial service Friday, May 10th at 12:30 pm

Private interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association .
