Virgilio F. Rovillos

In Loving Memory of Virgilio Floro Rovillos February 17, 1940 – August 11, 2026

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Virgilio Floro Rovillos, who passed away peacefully on August 11th at 5:45 a.m., surrounded by the love and memories of the family who meant everything to him. 

Virgilio was born on February 17, 1940, and lived a life defined by love, faith, hard work, family, and an unmistakable smile that could light up any room.In 1968, Virgilio moved to America, where he began building the life that would become his American dream. A hardworking and determined man, he spent more than 40 years owning and operating two successful businesses in Pontiac, Michigan: an automotive repair shop and a gas station. Through his businesses, he not only built a legacy for his family, but also formed countless relationships with the people in his community.

Above all, Virgilio was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and man of God.

He shared 63 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife and business partner, Monette Rovillos. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, hard work, travel, and countless memories. Their partnership was a beautiful reflection of the life they created together.

Virgilio was the loving father of Vernette Rovillos and Rainier Rovillos, and he was incredibly proud of his children and all they became.His family was his greatest joy. He adored his grandchildren, Dominik Monson and Justin Monson, and was especially grateful to watch his family continue to grow. He loved Dominik’s wife, Bella Monson, and Justin’s wife, Janice Monson, as part of his own family. He was also blessed with a great-granddaughter, Ellia Moon Monson, who brought an especially precious kind of joy into his life.

To Virgilio, family always came first.

He loved spending time with the people he loved, sharing meals, laughing, traveling, and experiencing the world. He loved going on vacations and seeing new places, but no matter where life took him, his greatest happiness was always found in being together with his family. He loved food, loved to laugh, and seemed to always have a smile on his face.

Virgilio was also a deeply devoted Catholic and a man of strong faith. He was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish in Waterford, Michigan, where he faithfully served his church as an usher and choir singer. His faith was an important part of who he was, and he carried that faith with him throughout his life.

Those who knew Virgilio will remember a man who never stopped smiling. He had a heart that was always full: full of love for his wife, his children, his grandchildren, his great-granddaughter, his friends, his faith, and the life he was blessed to live.

He leaves behind a legacy that is much greater than the businesses he built or the years he spent working. His greatest legacy is the family he loved so deeply and the countless memories he created with them.

Virgilio lived his life with his heart wide open. He worked hard, loved deeply, laughed often, traveled, enjoyed good food, served his faith, and always made time for the people he loved.

Family was everything to him.

And to the family he leaves behind, he will always be everything.

His smile, his laughter, his stories, his love, his faith, and the memories of the life he shared with those around him will live on through every generation that follows.

Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we are grateful for the 86 years we were blessed to have him in our lives. We will carry his love with us forever and will continue to tell his stories, share his memories, and live with the same love for family that he showed us every day.

Rest peacefully, Virgilio.

Visitation will be held at the Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston on Monday, August 17 from 4:00pm-8:00pm with a Rosary taking place at 6:00pm. Funeral Mass to be held at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, Waterford on Tuesday, August 18 at 10:00am with visiting beginning at 9:30am.
