Walter "Joe" Ollie

OLLIE, Walter "Joe", Jr. of Clarkston; passed away unexpectedly on January 24, 2024 at the age of 72;

husband of Charlotte; father of Richard (Cathy) Sherk, Ann Sherk and David (Angie) Sherk;

special papa of Amanda (Mark) Sprinkle, Mark Sylvester, Christina (Jeff) Benway and many others.

special great grandpa of Vaylic and Lily and many others.

brother of Alice, Lillian, Donald, Robert, Theresa, Gary, Carol, Virginia, Vickie, the late Karen and the late Donna.

Preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Aune Ollie.

Joe served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. He earned several medals, including  a National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Medal and a Purple Heart. He retired from Clarkston United Methodist Church in the maintenance dept. He spent most of his time "tinkering" around the house and had a talent for construction and mechanics. He built the family deck and a gazebo for his wife.

Cremation services entrusted to Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston.

Cemetery service with military honors at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly on Thursday, February 1st at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
